PETER F. AXELRAD

Peter F. Axelrad is a director of the law firm of Council, Baradel, Kosmerl & Nolan, P.A.

Mr. Axelrad's practice includes: Civil Trial Litigation, Appellate Practice, Libel and Slander, Insurance Law, and Professional Responsibility.

Mr. Axelrad has been in private practice since 1965 in Baltimore, Washington and now in Annapolis.

In addition to his extensive appellate and trial experience, Mr. Axelrad has been a member of the Trial Court Judicial Nominating Commission in Baltimore from 1982-1995, the Maryland State Bar's Committee on Judicial Appointments, and Chair of that Committee from 1986-1989. He is a member of the Section Council of the Litigation Section of the Maryland State Bar Association and was Chair of the Section in 1981-1982.

Mr. Axelrad has published articles and given speeches and seminars on numerous topics, including: seminars for MICPEL (Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers); Maryland State Bar Association, including at annual meetings; Judicial Conference of the State of Maryland; Judicial Institute of the State of Maryland; Maryland D.C. Delaware Press Association; Maryland Trial Lawyers Association.

He has authored: "What Lawyers Expect from Judges," The Gavel - Publication of Circuit Judges Association of Maryland, 1994; Lawyers Roundtable - Libel Defense Resource Centre, 1994; Intentional Torts - Defamation and Invasion of Privacy, MICPEL seminar and paper, 1994.
