Ted Staples is a director of the law firm of Council, Baradel, Kosmerl & Nolan, P.A.

Mr. Staples' practice includes civil, corporate and criminal trial practice, personal injury law, and insurance defense litigation.

Mr. Staples began his legal career as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Robert L. Karwacki, Associate Judge, Maryland Court of Appeals. Since that time, Mr. Staples has engaged in extensive trial practice involving civil, corporate and criminal matters throughout Maryland and the District of Columbia. Mr. Staples has been a guest lecturer on both civil and criminal law for the Maryland Institute for the Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers (MICPEL).

Mr. Staples was admitted to the Maryland bar in 1990 and the District of Columbia bar in 1992. Mr. Staples is also admitted to the United States District Courts for Maryland (1991) and the District of Columbia (1993).

In July 2003 Mr. Staples was appointed by the Governor of Maryland to serve as a member of the Judicial Nominating Commission - District Seven for Anne Arundel County for a term of four years.

Mr. Staples has served on the Board of Trustees for the Anne Arundel County Bar Association (2000-present) and is currently serving as the immediate past President; is currently on the Board of Directors for the Anne Arundel County Bar Foundation; is currently serving a two-year term on the Maryland State Bar Association Board of Governors (2006-2008); is a Life Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation; is a Fellow of the National Conference of Bar Presidents; is General Counsel to the Board of Directors of the Chrysalis House; a founding Board Member of The Volunteer Center for Anne Anundel County; and on the Executive Committee of the University of Virginia Alumni Association - Maryland Chapter.
